There is big news this week!! As of tomorrow, the Renfrew Farmers’ Market will be relocating to Haramis Park. If you don’t know where that is, it’s the park and ride next to the train across from Walmart. After discussion with the vendors that have been attending the market to date, we have decided that a move was necessary with the construction in front of the farigrounds. This way, all of our customers will have lots of space to park, easy access to the market and not have to worry about manoevering between pilons!
We are all very excited to try out this new location for the season and hope our customers find it easier to access. Just as exciting, new vendors are arriving every week, with this week including salad greens, strawberries, rhubarb, asparagus, maple syrup, honey, soaps, pies, lamb, preserves and many more goodies!!
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow at Haramis Park!
Well it’s almost here. The day we try out our new home for the season. The Renfrew Farmer’s Market will be at the Renfrew Fair Grounds starting Saturday June 2, 2012 till Thanksgiving weekend. Our hours are not changing, so you can expect us there from 7am till 12pm.
We are very excited and are finalizing and tweaking thin, making sure we have signs in place so that all our customers won’t miss us! There will be signs down at our old location letting those who haven’t heard that we have moved. So please help us spread the word to family and friends that are planning to come to the Farmers’ Market on Saturday that it is now at the Fairgrounds. There will be baking, crafts, flowers and even the veggies are starting to show! We have some new bakers with different types of breads, french bread, artisan breads, cookies, and all sorts of yummy treats! So come on down to our new location this Saturday morning!!
This year our group has decided to become a member of the Farmers’ Market Ontario group. We now have our application in and are currently waiting for approval. We felt that in joining Farmers’ Market Ontario, it would be a great benefit for our market and our customers. The biggest we felt is exposure. We need to get our name out there so people know that we are here selling fresh local food and products. It amazes me that even in our small community and after being here for 40 years, we still get the comment, that they didn’t know Renfrew had a Farmers’ Market! By joining we also have to follow some rules and regulations but we hope this keeps everyone healthy and safe to be able to enjoy all our products we have to offer. It will also help in keeping us informed when there are changes to the Rules and Regulations that we have to follow to be a vendor at a farmers market. These can sometimes change monthly or yearly but this will help in keeping up to date! There is also a lot of information for our vendors and customers on there as well.
